2020 Florida Property Tax Appeal Deadlines Are Approaching!

It’s that time of year again!! If you are an Owner or Manager of real estate in Florida, you should be receiving your 2020 TRIM (Truth in Millage) Notice within the coming weeks. An appeal of your property’s Fair Market Value must be filed within 25 days of the date the TRIM Notice was mailed or the date that is specified on your TRIM Notice. In the grid below, we have gathered the estimated dates for both the mailing of the TRIM Notice as well as the Appeal Deadlines for some of the major Florida Metro Counties. This list will continue to be updated as more information becomes available.

The amount you will pay in property taxes for 2020 is directly based on the County’s opinion of Market and Assessed Value for your property. With property values on the rise amidst the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important for a qualified property tax professional to review and analyze your properties to ensure that your values are fair and equitable. If you feel the value of your property is too high or just wish to have an independent review, then we encourage you to call us at  (954) 282-2005 or email Brian at b.depotter@first-pointe.com or Nick at n.mau@first-pointe.com.

If your property is in a County that is not included above, our Resources page contains links to all 67 County Property Appraiser, Value Adjustment Board and Tax Collector websites to inquire about your respective county’s appeal deadline.
